Fun, Safe & Dependable OOSH & Vacation Care in Kempsey & Surrounding Areas

At Kempsey Family Day Care, we understand how important it is to provide the best care possible for your children. That's why we offer a range of services specifically designed to cater to the needs of school-aged children. Our OOSH Care program provides before and after-school care during term time, while our vacation care program offers all-day care during school holidays and pupil-free days.

We want you to feel confident that your children are in good hands. Our services are designed to provide your child with a safe, nurturing environment to have fun and engage in stimulating activities.

OOSH Care

We know how hard it can be to balance work and family life, so we offer Out-of-school-Hours (OOSH) care at four local public schools: Frederickton, South West Rocks, Aldavilla and Crescent Head Public Schools. Our dedicated educators are on-site to provide care and enriching activities for your child, so you can have peace of mind knowing that they're in a safe and caring environment.

OOSH Care Menu:

We are 'nut' free services. Please do not send food that contains nuts in your children's lunch boxes.

Our menu will reflect all areas of the healthy food pyramid.

Breakfast

  • Weetbix / other cereal
  • Toast
  • Milk/water
  • Milo milk

Afternoon Tea

  • Fruit, crackers, cheese
  • Various snacks - see the weekly menu

Vacation Care

If you're working during the school holidays, we've got you covered with our vacation care program. Our team provides quality supervision and care for your children, with a range of activities to keep them entertained and active. From crafts to sports, free play to excursions, we've got it all covered. We care about your children's well-being and happiness, and we're committed to providing a high-quality service that you can rely on.

Excursions

  • All excursions are in strict compliance with Education & Care Services National Regulations 2018 and within the guidelines set down by our insurance coverage.
  • An Excursion Authority form stating the child's name, excursion date, destination, the form of transport and contact phone numbers must be signed before a child is allowed to go on a planned excursion. Additional costs associated with the excursions are included in the daily rate.

Requirements of Vacation Care:

During Vacation Care, Parents must provide the following:

  • Morning/afternoon tea
  • A nutritious lunch (unless specified in the program)
  • Plenty to drink
  • In summer - swimming costume, RASH SHIRT, HAT, towel, appropriate footwear
  • In winter - plenty of warm clothing and appropriate footwear

Please contact us to check the days and sessions OSHC is offered at each Service. Services do not operate on Public Holidays.

Other Information

  • Fees:

    OOSH can be accessed for as little as $3.85  a session, and Vacation Care from $13.09 a session (with Child Care Subsidy applied).


    Our fees are as follows:

    • Before School, $20.00 per session
    • After School, $25.00 per session
    • Vacation Care and Pupil Free Days $68-$98 according to the activities and excursions offered on the day.

  • Child Care Subsidy

    The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a payment that families receive to reduce the cost of approved child care.

    Before your child commences OSHC, you will need to complete a CCS assessment using your Centrelink online account.  You will be asked to provide information, including family income and activity level (of parents/guardians).  How many hours of activity you do (e.g. work or study) and your combined family income determines how many hours of subsidised care you can receive and your CCS%.

    CCS goes directly to your OSHC service, so your fees can be reduced.

  • Enrolments:

    Enrolments can be made at the Service or Kempsey Family Day Care's Co-ordination Unit at 11 Austral Street Kempsey.

    Every child must be enrolled and have the enrolment form signed before being accepted at the Service. An enrolment fee will also be charged. This fee helps towards the cost of providing insurance coverage for your child whilst attending OSHC.

    An annual registration fee is due at the beginning of each year and is compulsory for your child's attendance at OSHC. Enrolments need to be reviewed on 1st January each year.
